About these bees — featured in Italy's National Beekeeping Magazine

The April 2026 issue of Apinsieme — Rivista Nazionale di Apicoltura devoted a six-page feature to my painted bees. Authors Renzo Barbattini (University of Udine) and Claudio Baffi (retired researcher, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Piacenza) trace the bees back through the painted beehive fronts of Slovenian folk art, Jean Dubuffet's 1945 Art Brut, and the graffiti scratched into the outer walls of the closed psychiatric hospital at Volterra.
