Nuclear Family”  (loaned by Matt Sesow, in 5 frames, each is 11”x 14” mix on archival paper, 2016)

Series depicts a family of 5 (like my own, with cat, dog, and bunny) at the moment of the nuclear blast and then thru the 5 paintings, pushing forward towards the viewer,  eventually reduced to ash.  larger image here:  http://www.sesow.com/paintings/dec2k15/nuclearfamily.jpg

This is the illustration by Dagmar Wilson that inspired my 5 painting series “Nuclear Family”, from the previous page of this document.  More on Dagmar Wilson: Dagmar Searchinger Wilson (January 25, 1916 – January 6, 2011) was an American anti-nuclear testing activist, artist, and illustrator of children's books for Whitman's Children's Books.

Born in Manhattan, New York City, Wilson founded Women Strike for Peace in 1961 to end the testing of nuclear weapons.
